NEWS FROM THE CLUB...

MEMBERS TOUR THE NEW SOLLERA FACILITIES
On Tuesday, June 16th, Exchangites toured the new home of Sollera (formerly known as the Rape & Abuse Crisis Center) in downtown Fargo. Chief Executive Officer Christopher Johnson talked about the services provided by his organization and explained how the new, expanded facilities will help them execute their mission. The new building is roughly triple the size of their previous home and will allow them to consolidate some of the services they provide. Renovations are expected to be completed in a couple of months.

The West Fargo Exchange Club is pleased to support Sollera and all of they do in the community to help prevent abuse and assist victims of abuse. For more information about Sollera, visit their website at sollera.org.

STUDENTS OF THE YEAR NAMED
The Club recognized the Students of the Year from the three local high schools at their Spring Student Recognition Luncheon held on May 13th.

West Fargo High School's recipient is Brynn Decker. Ranked first in her class, she is an AP Scholar with Distinction, and received the AP Capstone Diploma. Brynn is an active member of HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), having served as co-President, PaY (Philanthropy and Youth), and the National Honor Society. Brynn participated in volleyball, and coached youth basketball and volleyball with the West Fargo Park District. She participated in Sanford Health's MedX, a semester-long program exploring multiple medical careers. Brynn was West Fargo High's Student of the Month for October 2025. She plans on attending the University of North Dakota to study nursing or pre-med, with the eventual goal of becoming an anesthesiologist.

Payton Stocker is Sheyenne High School's Student of the Year. A four-time academic letter winner and two-sport athlete, Payton has maintained a 4.25 GPA. She participated in NTHS and FBLA while also serving as a two-time captain of the state champion West Fargo United hockey team, and a three-time captain of the state champion Mustang golf team, for which she has played for six seasons (five-time all-EDC, four-time all-state, two-time individual EDC champion and individual state runner-up). She was Sheyenne's Student of the Month for February 2026 as well. Payton will be attending the University of North Dakota where she plans to major in finance while playing Division I Women's Golf for the Fighting Hawks.

Horace High School's Student of the Year is Maiah Fuchs. A four-time academic letter winner having maintained a 4.26 GPA, Maiah was named the Junior Female Scholar of the Year and participated in multiple activities for the Hawks. She is the Student Council President, Key Club Vice President, and a member of the National Honor Society and Hawk Representatives. Maiah also is a 2026 North Dakota Class AA Academic All-State Honorable Mention, a four-time letter winner in swimming (also serving as team captain), and lettered in tennis. Maiah will be attending the University of Minnesota where she plans to study political science, psychology, and Spanish with the intent of eventually attending law school to become a lawyer.

HOLO SELECTED FOR A.C.E. AWARD
Kennedi Holo of West Fargo's Community High School is this year's recipient of the Exchange Club's Accepting the Challenge of Excellence Award (A.C.E.). The A.C.E. Award and Scholarship Program is a three-tiered Exchange competition through Local, District, and National levels. Students who win at the local level advance to the district competition, with the opportunity to compete nationally for a $15,000 scholarship and a national plaque. This scholarship honors high school students who have made a dramatic turnaround in their attitude, performance, and future outlook during their high school years. Kennedi graduated early from West Fargo Community High School where she mentored students living with disabilities at the Transition Academy. She plans to attend Concordia College next Fall, majoring in Education and minoring in Spanish, with plans of becoming a Spanish teacher. Her goal is to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.

CLUB DONATES TO HIGH SCHOOL PANTRIES
The West Fargo Exchange Club sponsored the West Fargo Sheyenne Mustangs at West Fargo Packers basketball games on February 6. As part of the Club's sponsorship, students and fans of the Packers and Mustangs squared off at halftime of both the girls' and boys' games in a three-point shooting contest, with the Club awarding a donation to both schools' food pantries for the number of three-pointers made.

On February 18th, Exchangites Sam Kiecker, Steph Lauritsen, and Jana Samek, along with Club President Jim Martens, presented the donations to the Packer Pantry and Mustang Closet
